Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Nube S.r.l. ("we", "us") processes personal data when you use Link Us (l-k.us), in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR") and applicable Italian law.

1. Data controller

The data controller is Nube S.r.l., Via Salvio Argiolas 23, 09067 Elmas (CA), Italy — VAT IT04109560922, certified email (PEC) nubesrl2@legalmail.it, email info@nubelab.it. You can contact us at any time about this policy or your personal data.

2. What data we process

• Account data: name, email address and password (stored only as a strong one-way hash), interface language.
• Consent records: for each consent you give or withdraw (terms, privacy, marketing) we store the date, your IP address and browser user-agent, as proof of consent (GDPR accountability).
• Link data: the destination URLs you shorten, their titles and settings. For links created without an account, we do not know who created them.
• Click statistics: when a short link is opened we store the date and time, the referring website (domain only), a coarse device category (mobile / desktop / bot) and the browser language. We do NOT store the IP address or any identifier of the person clicking.
• Technical server logs: our web server temporarily logs IP addresses and requests for security and abuse prevention; these logs are rotated and deleted automatically.

3. Purposes and legal bases

• Providing the service (creating and redirecting links, managing your account): performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• Security, abuse prevention and rate limiting: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• Aggregate, privacy-friendly click statistics for your links: performance of a contract.
• Marketing communications by Nube S.r.l.: your explicit, optional consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Communication of your data to third-party partners for their own marketing, including transfers outside the EU/EEA: a second, separate and optional consent. Neither consent is required to create or keep an account; together they unlock the free dynamic features (dynamic links and dynamic QR codes). You may withdraw each consent at any time with effect for the future.
• Analytics and advertising cookies (Google): your consent via the cookie banner (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Art. 122 Italian Privacy Code).
• Compliance with legal obligations, and establishing or defending legal claims: Art. 6(1)(c) and (f) GDPR.

4. Recipients and third parties

We share personal data only as needed to run the service:

• Hosting provider: Hostinger International Ltd. (EU data centre), acting as processor.
• Google (Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4, Google Ads): only if you accept analytics/marketing cookies in the banner.
• Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. (Meta Pixel, for measuring and optimising advertising on Facebook/Instagram): only if you accept marketing cookies in the banner.
• Marketing partners: only if you have given the specific third-party consent, your identification and contact data (name, email address, language) may be communicated, for their own marketing purposes, to partners in these categories: online advertising and audience platforms (e.g. Google Ireland Ltd.), e-mail and direct-marketing service providers, and market-research companies, operating in the EU and the United States. The up-to-date list of partners is available at any time on request to info@nubelab.it and material changes will be notified to you.
• Public authorities, where required by law.

5. Transfers outside the EU/EEA

If you give the third-party marketing consent, your data may be transferred outside the EU/EEA, primarily to the United States. Transfers rely on an adequacy decision where available (e.g. the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, under which Google processes some data in the USA) and otherwise on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses with the recipient. You may request a copy of the safeguards by contacting us.

6. Retention

• Account data: until you delete your account.
• Consent records: 5 years after the consent is withdrawn or the account deleted, as proof of compliance (Art. 17(3)(e) GDPR — they are retained, detached from the deleted account profile, together with the email address they refer to).
• Click statistics: at most 14 months, then deleted automatically.
• Server security logs: up to 90 days.
• Short links: until deleted by their owner; anonymous links are kept as long as the service exists, as they contain no personal data of the creator.

7. Your rights

Under Articles 15–22 GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase and export ("data portability") your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw any consent at any time without affecting past processing. You can exercise most rights directly from your account page (data export, consent management, account deletion) or by writing to info@nubelab.it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian supervisory authority (Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali, www.garanteprivacy.it) or your local authority.

8. Security

All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Passwords are stored using a strong adaptive one-way hash. Access to production systems is restricted and logged. Click statistics are engineered so that no IP address or personal identifier of visitors is ever stored.

9. Minors

The service is not directed at children. Creating an account requires being at least 16 years old (or the minimum age for consent to information-society services in your country).

10. Automated decision-making

We do not use your data for automated decision-making producing legal effects. Automatic rate limiting and abuse detection only protect the service.

11. Changes

We may update this policy; the current version is always published on this page with its date. Material changes will be notified to registered users by email.
